I spent the week on Maui painting some pictures at my new favorite painting spot... My friend Dave Stein has a nice house and appreciates art... the only bad thing i can say about Dave is the art he likes kind of bores me... he wants me to paint waves and hula girls but in the midst i find some inspiration to be a painter and find myself as a painter... this is one of my favorite paintings i have ever done....

- Drew Toonz is an animator and cartoonist residing in both New Jersey and North Shore of Oahu. He is the creator of Surf Skool short films featuring Johnny Stone. Toonz has been a featured artist for Volcom where his comic strips and artwork have been printed on boardshorts and tees. Toonz has also worked on many other projects including painting murals for the Triple Crown of Surfing, animation and drawings for North Shore Lifeguard Association, music bands Pepper & Trouble Andrew, Atlantic City Weekly, Blue Planet Foundation, and Wave Riding Vehicles just to name a few.
